What is a hair topper?
A topper is a hairpiece designed to cover a specific area on the top of the head. It can add the appearance of density around the part and crown while blending into the hair around it. The right base size, part placement, color, and cut all affect the finish.
Toppers vary in construction and attachment. During your consultation, we discuss the coverage you want, the hair available around the perimeter, and how you would like to wear and care for your piece.
What is mesh integration?
Mesh integration uses a mesh foundation to support added hair, with natural hair incorporated into the system where appropriate. It is a different approach from rows of extensions and may be considered when coverage across the top is the main goal.
Your natural hair, coverage needs, attachment options, and maintenance commitment determine which approach we discuss. A topper or mesh system is a cosmetic coverage service; the consultation focuses on fit, blending, comfort, and upkeep.
Your consultation, step by step
- Show us the areas you want to cover. We discuss your part, crown, hairline, and preferred styles.
- Explore the fit. We assess base size, natural coverage, attachment options, color, and how the piece could blend with your hair.
- Discuss everyday wear. Tell us about washing, exercise, styling, and whether you prefer a removable piece or an installed system.
- Review the full plan. We explain the recommended piece, fitting or installation, finishing, maintenance visits, and personalized quote before you decide.
Maintenance and ongoing adjustments
Installed systems need scheduled salon care as your hair grows. We plan adjustments, cleaning, and any removal and reinstallation around the specific system and your natural hair. A maintenance visit is also a chance to check the fit and the condition of your hair and attachments.
We explain how to brush, wash, dry, and style your piece at home. If you already own a topper, call before booking so we can discuss whether an assessment, fitting, or maintenance appointment is the right starting point.
Top coverage or extra length?
If your main goal is length or fuller ends, you may want to compare hand-tied extensions and K-tip extensions. When both top coverage and length matter, we discuss those goals together and explain which options are suitable for your hair.
